Meet Adam Tyler, MCSE & Systems Engineer

I’ve been a technology enthusiast from the beginning and always knew I wanted to build a career in the field. I began my professional journey in 2006 by earning a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification in Windows Server 2003, which was the current platform at the time. I spent the early part of my career with Best Buy for Business, primarily deploying Small Business Server (SBS) 2003–an experience that was both challenging and formative.

In 2008, I got my foot in the door at a Portland, Oregon–based managed services provider. Over the next five years, I deployed servers, implemented certifications, and designed solutions in the Small and Medium-sized Business (SMB) space. During this time, I gained exposure to a wide variety of environments and industries, including law, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. I completed numerous migrations across diverse hardware and software platforms. I was promoted quickly and became one of the company’s senior consultants, responsible for increasingly complex projects involving Exchange, Hyper-V/VMware, XenApp, multi-site Active Directory, datacenter migrations, and high-availability UTM solutions.

In 2014, I transitioned from consulting to an internal IT role, joining my current employer as a Systems Engineer. In 2021, I was promoted to Infrastructure Support Manager. It has been a rewarding experience–since I joined, the organization has grown from 300 employees in 2014 to nearly 1,000 in 2025, and we continue to expand.

Why I started TylerCrew.net

I began this blog as an attempt to connect with other admins out there and to begin cataloging technical processes with those peers. I appreciate your input. Thanks for stopping by and feel free to reach out over email or find me on LinkedIn.
